A great Islay single malt from an unnamed distillery. The Ileach always scores well with the critics, this cask strength edition was awarded a mindblowingly high 97 points by Jim Murray in his Whisky Bible. He describes as easily being a whisky of the year contender.
The name of this company is so long that I had to use the abbreviation H&ISWCL. Their brands include 'The Ileach' (a young peat monster, probably Lagavulin or Laphroaig), the 'Black Cullin' (an island malt with an 8yo age statement, probably Talisker because it's named after the Cullin Hills on Skye) and 'The Pibroch' (a twelve years old single malt whisky, also from Islay).
The distillery is not mentioned but could be found on the Isle of Islay!!
