An extraordinary whisky, this three-time distilled Hazelburn was aged for 5 years in refill bourbon casks and finished for a full three years in Sauternes casks! It was distilled in June 2002, and bottled at natural cask strength in February 2011, and there were just 9180 bottles. A hard to find dram.
Springbank is one of the few remaining family owned distilleries. Nearly all of its whisky is sold as a single malt, with little of it finding its way into blends. Most blends are produced by larger conglomerates who tend to use the single malts from the distilleries that they own in their blends. Springbank is one of few distilleries in Scotland to perform every step in the whisky making process, from malting the barley to bottling the spirit.

Nose: Incredibly sweet, with notes of fresh vanilla cream, boiled sweets, lemon meringue pie and wine gums. Beautifully balanced and really rich.
Palate: Clean and balanced, with notes of thick, creamy, sweet malt and hints of foam banana, pear, apple peel, rhubarb crumble and melted rum & raisin icecream.
Finish: Creamy and spicy. Long finish, with butterscotch, honeycomb, hints of fruit gums.
