BenRiach Maderensis Fumosus 2008 13yo (5cl, 46.0%) SAMPLE

Released in July 2008, 13 years old ‘MADERENSIS FUMOSUS’ (Latin for ‘smoky Madeira’) is a heavily peated BenRiach, originally matured in AMERICAN OAK, then finished in MADEIRA WINE barrels.

This is the fourth expression of BenRiach where we have started with peated BenRiach as the base whisky and exposed it to the influence of CASK FINISHING, following on from the 12 years old versions finished, respectively, in Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks, Aged Tawny Port casks and Jamaican Dark Rum casks. Bottled at NATURAL colour and NON CHILL filtered, availability is very limited

The BenRiach distillery is a single malt Scotch whisky distillery in the Speyside area of Scotland. It is operated independently by the BenRiach Distillery Company Limited, formed by two South African funding partners, Geoff Bell and Wayne Keiswetter and Scotch whisky expert Billy Walker. In 2008, the company expanded their portfolio with the acquisition of the Glendronach distillery as well as the Glenglassaugh distillery in March 2013.
