BenRiach Importanticus Fumosus 2007 12yo (5cl, 46.0%) SAMPLE

Released in May 2007, BenRiach ‘IMPORTANTICUS FUMOSUS’ is part of a range of three 12 year old HEAVILY PEATED BenRiachs, originally matured in American oak and then finished either in sherry, port or dark rum wood. In the case of ‘Importanticus Fumosus’, the whisky has been finished in AGED TAWNY PORT Hogsheads, and the name, which is Latin, literally translates to ‘SMOKY PORT’.

This maintains the tradition of giving our peated expressions Latin names, which started with Curiositas (10 years old) and Authenticus, and which has become somewhat of a signature for BenRiach. Bottled at NATURAL colour and NON CHILL filtered, ‘Importanticus Fumosus’ is available on a strictly limited basis.

The BenRiach distillery is a single malt Scotch whisky distillery in the Speyside area of Scotland. It is operated independently by the BenRiach Distillery Company Limited, formed by two South African funding partners, Geoff Bell and Wayne Keiswetter and Scotch whisky expert Billy Walker. In 2008, the company expanded their portfolio with the acquisition of the Glendronach distillery as well as the Glenglassaugh distillery in March 2013.
